Both Stress and aging cause a decrease in stomach acid production which allows bacteria to grow in the stomach. These opportunistic bacteria generate gas and acid that results in the “belch,” “burp” and “bloat” syndrome.
Prevention includes eating small meals, no fried foods, drink eight glasses of water each day to prevent constipation.
Treatment should include betaine HCI and pancreatic enzymes at 75-200 mg t.i.d. (3 times per day) before each meal; for acute attacks of “heartburn” include any of the commercial products advertised on TV (i.e., ROLAIDS) and herbs to include Peppermint (Mentha piperita) and angelica (Angelica archangelica).

Salt your food to taste. Salt does not cause high blood pressure and restricting salt will not reduce your risk of high blood pressure or add ten seconds to your life - in fact restricting salt will shorten your life and make your very short life miserable.
Salt is the raw material needed to manufacture stomach acid. Stomach acid is hydrochloric acid that is necessary to digest food, ensure absorption of minerals, activate pepsin (protein digestive enzyme produced by the stomach) and activate the "intrinsic factor" necessary to absorb vitamin B12.
In April 1997, The Sodium Task Force reported that those individuals who restricted their salt intake to one gram per day had a 600 percent higher rate of heart attacks than those who consumed more than two grams of salt per day.
Restricted salt intakes will make you heat intolerant and over the long term will result in digestive problems including belching, burping, intestinal gas and G.E.R.D. (gastro esophageal reflux disease).
Restricted salt diets with the resultant hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid) will increase risks of nutritional deficiency diseases including obesity (reduced absorption of minerals increases the munchies), diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, osteoporosis, kidney stones, cataracts, fibromyalgia, etc.

Q:
I’ve remodeled homes now for probably 18 years, and during that
time I have remodeled homes for families.
You notice these little children bouncing off of walls, and once
they get their breakfast and a snack after breakfast, and then lunch
again, normally has sugar in it, is there any correlation here with ADD?
A:
Absolutely. Back at
the turn of the century, 1895-1900, Americans were eating a half a pound
of sugar
per person per year. Today
it’s 150 pounds of sugar per person per
year, and somebody out there is eating 300 pounds because I don’t eat
any. I can tell you that
there is a direct correlation between the increase of ADD,
ADHD, depression, manic depression, bipolar disease and the increased consumption of sugar.
And if you look at it, there’s 5 million American
children who are on Ritalin, Prozac and nepremine and other anti-depressants in school.
Five
million drugged American kids in pre-school and elementary school, simply
because these kids are sensitive to sugar,
like many people are sensitive to alcohol.
There’s good alcoholics who just kind of go to sleep when they
have a couple of drinks, there’s the people who get boisterous and sing
loud Irish songs when they take a couple of drinks, and there’s some
people who get violent and angry and become angry and dangerous to
themselves and other people. Child
abuse, spouse abuse, they abuse their neighbors, road rage, another way of
looking at this life-threatening situation, people will actually gain
criminal behavior sometimes because alcohol acts like a drug in them.
Same way with sugar.
Some people when they take in sugar have low blood sugar and they
just get drowsy and fall asleep. Some people when they take in sugar get hyperactive and
boisterous and actually ADD/ADHD.
And there are some people when they take sugar will have road rage.
They are very very aggressive and reactive, and can be dangerous to
themselves and their families and other people in the community.
And to me it’s criminal for Coca-Cola machines and candy machines
in school, and then wonder why kids beat up on each other and shoot each
other. Well in addition to
getting all the sugar out of their life
from Sugar Frosted Flakes and Pepsis and Reese’s Peanut butter Cups and
candy and Pop Tarts and Eggos and things like ice cream and so forth, they
have to supplement with all 90 essential nutrients.
Even little kids, from the moment they are born to
develop properly, (this includes their emotions), to repair and maintain
themselves, they need all 90 essential nutrients
and especially
lithium, chromium,
vanadium. There is an enormous amount of research in human beings which show
that
lithium deficiency
results in hyperactivity, ADD, ADHD, depression,
manic depression, and criminal behavior.
And so they have to do both.
Again,
a teaspoon for 20 lbs. bodyweight under the weight of 100 pounds, and no
sugar whatsoever from any source, and you can avoid all this.
It’s amazing. Just within days they will be perfectly normal little kids.

Any rate, if you have a Selenium deficiency, and you
don't want to wait until you get cardiomyopathy and drop dead from a
heart attack to recognize it, if you look on your hands and you look in
the mirror on your face, if you have liver spots or age spots, and I see
quite a few from here, you have an early Selenium deficiency. That's
called free-radical damage, and fortunately for you, if you recognize
that, and you start taking in some colloidal
Selenium, in 4 to 6 months it
will all go away. You'll reverse back in 4 to 6 months. And when they go
away on the outside, they're going away on the inside, in your brain, and
your heart, and your liver, and your kidneys.

Then, as far as inhalant
allergies from dust and pollen, seasonal ones from dust and
pollen, and maybe constant ones from danders on cats and dogs and chickens
and feathers and your pillows and that kind of thing, maybe even chemicals
that come out of rugs, and new cars, like formaldehyde and other
chemicals, you want to get your immune system working optimally so it can
protect you from these things. Because
most people are able to tolerate them.
And what happens is when your immune system doesn’t have enough
nutrition to function optimally you become a victim of these things
assaulting you all the time. And
so what you want to do is 1) take all 90 essential nutrients so that your
immune system, which includes your liver and your spleen, your tonsils and
your appendix, your thymus, your white blood cells which include the neutrophils
and the lymphocytes, the killer lymphocytes – the T-cells and
so forth, also you have eosinophils and basophiles, you have neutraphils… all of these while blood cells, you have albumins and
globulins which are the immune proteins, you have antibodies themselves,
you have your digestive system, your skin, your tears, your mucous, - all
of that requires 90 essential nutrients
to produce this immune system which is not just your killer T-cells, it
includes all of these tissues and cells and organs of your body.
Also if you have these types of problems, you want to get one of
these hepa filters at your workplace and
your home when you sleep. You
can get ones that you plug in your car.
You want to eat as much organically grown
food as possible. You
want to drink filtered water.
You want to get as many chemicals out of
your diet as possible and reduce this pressure on your immune
system.
PEANUTS vs. SHRIMP:
"It
is worth mentioning that an allergic reaction to shrimp is always much
less severe than the allergic reaction to peanuts. The reason for
this difference is very simple. Aside from the allergens it comes
with, peanuts contain omega-6 EFAs exclusively, the EFAs that boost
immmune reaction, while shrimp are rich in long chain omega-3 EFAs that
are, as we have seen, the brakes fo the immune system."

Q: Yes
my question is on Alzheimer's. Why is
it more prevalent today than it was 15 or 20 years ago?
A: Actually, Alzheimer's disease is a disease that didn’t exist 40 years ago. Alzheimer's disease, even by another name, could not be found in any medical dictionary or textbook or taught in any medical curriculum. It only became an entity in the medical literature in 1979. And today it is apparently the number 4 killer of adults in the United States over the age of 65, behind cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and then comes Alzheimer's disease. It appears to me, with no doubt, that it is due to what I call a ‘physician-caused disease’. Because doctors have encouraged people, in fact demanded that people give up saturated fat and cholesterol and move towards a cholesterol restricted diet to get their blood cholesterol down below 200, and they have created no less than 25 of these cholesterol diseases. And to me, Alzheimer’s disease is one of the big ones.
75% of our brain weight is pure cholesterol, it’s called myelin, it’s this fatty stuff that insulates each nerve fiber of the brain and spinal cord, and we can only make about 10% of our daily need of cholesterol. The other 90% must come from the diet. And if a person if very very good about giving up chicken skin and red meat, and dairy and eggs, like a doctor would have them do, after about 6 or 8 or 10 years they’re not going to be able to keep up with the maintenance and repair needs of the cholesterol for the myelin and the brain and spinal cord, so you can just expect that a person is going to develop one or more of these 25 physician-caused diseases, including acquired seizure disorders and Alzheimer’s disease.
Now the best way to avoid Alzheimer’s is to eat a couple
of eggs every morning for breakfast, not cooked in margarine or fried,
you want to consume as much as 72oz of red meat every single month.
I know that sounds like a lot, but it’s just a quarter-pounder a
day, and you want to
supplement with all 90 essential
nutrients, and when you get to the Vitamin
E level you want to have at least 2,000
international units of Vitamin E,
and you want 500mcg of Selenium, and if you do that, even if you already have
Alzheimer’s disease, you can honestly expect to have a significant
amount of return of memory. Great
studies done by University of California at San Diego and the Salk
Institute that says by taking 2,000
icu of Vitamin E alone, even if you have advanced Alzheimer’s disease, you can get a
significant amount of memory return.
There’s hope for you!

Everybody has heard of it today. Fifty years ago when I was a little
kid, there was no such thing as Alzheimer's
Disease. It is a new disease,
one of those things that just sort of happened. Now it is a major disease,
one out of every 2 people who reach the age of 70 get Alzheimer's Disease.
Pretty scary. We learned fifty years ago in the animal industry how to
prevent and cure the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease in livestock. Can
you imagine how much a farmer would lose if the pigs were all laying there
scratching their heads saying, "Why am I here?" Where is the
feed box? Because if they are not gaining a couple of pounds a day you're
losing money. So we learned in the agricultural industry how to prevent
and in the early stages, cure, Alzheimer's Disease. We deal with high
doses of vitamin E and low doses of vegetable oil. You say, "Wallach,
that's crazy. High doses of vitamin E?" Well, you should have gotten
a recall notice from your doctor in July, 1992, because the University of
California, a sophisticated medical research school, University of
California, San Diego, came out and said, "Vitamin E eases memory
loss in Alzheimer's victims." Now they are only 50 years behind on
that, from veterinary medicine, so you might be safer going to a
veterinarian!

Cholesterol should really be an essential
nutrient, like Calcium, and Vitamin A and Vitamin C, Zinc, and so forth.
You would only make 10% of your daily need.
The other 90% you must get in your diet, and people get real good
about restricting red meat, and chicken skin and dairy products, and so it
is real easy to get cholesterol out of your life.
And the physicians, the medical profession has created a whole
family of diseases that are related to fat deficiency, essential fatty
acid deficiencies, cholesterol deficiency, and one of my favorites
I’ll share with you. This
particular disease did not exist 40 years ago.
It was not in any medical textbook, it was not in any medical
dictionary, it was not taught in any medical course.
It only became a disease entity in the literature in 1979.
Today it’s the number 4 killer of adults over the age of 65,
behind cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes.
It’s Alzheimer’s Disease.
It’s a physician-caused disease, and I’m going to prove that to
you in a minute.
Now people say to me, “Look, Doc, every member of
my family has got Alzheimer’s Disease, and doctors tell me that it is
genetic.” Well, it’s not
genetic, and I’m going to prove that to you in a second, but if you have
every family member who has got Alzheimer’s Disease, that means you have
the same family physician. You
want to get a new doctor.
Your brain is 75% pure cholesterol.
And if you are really good at giving up cholesterol, and you are
painstakingly careful about eliminating cholesterol in your diet, what’s
going to happen in about 10 to 12 years?
You only make 10% Well, you start losing that myelin, that insulating stuff
out of your brain, again it makes up 75% of your brain weight, and the old
squashola goes and you get Alzheimer’s Disease.
You can prevent Alzheimer’s Disease, you can reduce
your risk of Alzheimer’s Disease to almost zero, if you eat two eggs
every morning, soft scrambled, poached or soft boiled every morning, not
fried. And certainly no fried
foods. And you want to take
in all 90 essential nutrients, you want to make sure you are taking in 1200
to 2000 units of Vitamin E everyday if you have Alzheimer’s in your
family. And doctors just go berserk
when you I say things like that. I used to say that we could prevent Alzheimer’s Disease in pigs
and chickens, and they say “you show us where pigs and chickens get
Alzheimer’s Disease”. Well I can’t, because we prevent it!
Scientists investigating the effects of green tea antioxidant EGCG on mice's brains believe their positive results may signal its use as a preventive or treatment of Alzheimer's disease in humans. EGCG is the most potent antioxidant polyphenol in Green Tea and has been repeatedly studied in labs for its purported anti-cancer properties. "The findings suggest that a concentrated component of Green Tea can decrease brain beta-amyloid plaque formation", said senior study author Dr. Juan Tan (Youngevity).
Anyway, got a few of them here, some of my favorites. This doctor
Stewart Cartright, aged 38. He dropped dead in his home. He was a family
practitioner. Of a ruptured aneurysm. That's a
ballooning artery, a
weakened artery because of the fragmenting or the brittle condition of the
elastic fibers in the arteries. Just like when you hit a chuck hole with
your car tire, and you break the cords in there and you get a balloon. He
dropped dead like he was pole-axed, okay? Right in his home, from a
ruptured aortic aneurysm. Now we learned in 1957 that he died of something
that even a turkey wouldn't die from. The reason why we say that is, 1957
we learned that aneurysms were caused by a copper
deficiency. We had a
pilot project, 250,000 turkeys, and we made complete food pellets where
you put all 90 nutrients in there, and in the first 13 weeks, fully half
of those turkeys died. 125,000 died. Farmers were out there every morning
picking them up by the bushel basket. They took them to the State
diagnostic labs for an autopsy, and they found out that they all had died
of a ruptured aortic aneurysm. So they doubled the amount of
copper in
there, and the next year they tried to raise 500,000 turkeys, and they
didn't lose a single turkey from a ruptured aortic
aneurysm. And they ran
that experiment in mice, and rats and rabbits and dogs and cats and calves
and sheep and pigs, and guess what? They found out that there is a whole
series of diseases that are caused by copper deficiency. Gray hair is the
first sign. We start getting gray hair, regardless of age, you have a
copper deficiency. You get skin wrinkles, because the elastic fibers in
your skin are going... those little crows feet around your eyes, facial
and body skin wrinkles. You look like you're a little prune, drying up.

Q:
Dr. Wallach, what about Arthritis?
A:
Well arthritis is
my favorite disease, because it’s easy to fix. It’s one of the great myths that the medical profession
perpetuates that you can’t build bone mass after the age of 50, 60, 70
years of age, you can only slow down the loss.
And the reason why they say that is because they try to rebuild
bone mass using plain Calcium,
whether it’s TUMS or calcium citrate or carbonate or gluconate or
lactate. And your body will
not retain much of any of the calcium you supplement within your bones
without first building new
bone matrix.
You have to have new
bone matrix.
This is the rubbery collagen material
that looks like tendon or skin, and it makes up 25
to 40% of bone weight, 40% when you’re a child and 25 when you’re and
adult.
And so it is absolutely essential if you want to deal
with the wear and tear arthritis, Osteo
Arthritis, degenerative arthritis, ankylosing
spondylitis
effectively, you have to take all 90
essential nutrients
and the best way to do that is with Dr.
Wallach’s Pig Arthritis formula.
Remember, I’m a veterinarian as well as a
physician, and we learned a long time ago, maybe a hundred years ago in veterinary
medicine that we could prevent and even reverse, (maybe we could
even use the ‘cure’ word in animals), arthritis,
simply by giving the animal the raw materials to develop properly and to
maintain and repair the joints. And
so, using this information that we developed in animals, if you use the
same concept in human beings, I have literally seen tens of thousands of
people over the years who had bone to bone arthritis, osteoarthritis,
they have degenerative arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, which are basically
a joint form of osteoporosis…
it’s osteoporosis of the joint ends of the bones and they have
tried all kinds of medication, and of course if you take medication, if
you take a pain killer, take an anti-inflammatory for arthritis,
essentially all you’re doing is cutting the wire to the red warning
light. Pain in the joint says
“don’t use me until you fix me”, and by taking a pain-killer, by
taking an anti-inflammatory which will reduce pain, you are allowing that
joint to be used even though it would have been painful without the drug.
Here's one that I think is funny, on one hand, and on the other it tells you the attitude of physicians. This has to do with arthritis. It was in Sept. 24, 1993, from Harvard Medical School and the Boston VA Hospital. The people of you who have been to a VA hospital know, you have 2 opportunities to give your life for your country - once on the field of battle, and the other in the VA hospital. The title of the release was, "Chicken protein halts the pain and swelling of arthritis in a patient trial." They took people who failed to respond in any way to medical treatment for arthritis. These people got gold shots, mezotrexate, they got aspirin, prednizone, cortisone, and everything else you can think of, physical therapy, and the only thing left for them was joint replacement surgery. Before Harvard Medical School and the VA hospital was going to give it to them, they said, "Look, we're looking for people who are willing to suffer for just 3 months, 90 more days, because we want to try something. A short term experiment, and they got 29 volunteers. What they did for those 29 volunteers who failed to respond in any way to medical treatment for arthritis was, they gave them a heaping teaspoon of dried up chicken cartilage in their orange juice every morning. Just a heaping teaspoon of ground up chicken cartilage. And in 10 days, according to Harvard Medical School, all the pain and inflammation was gone!
These are people who didn't respond in any way to medical treatment. In 30 days they could open up a new pickle jar that had never been opened, and 90 days, 3 months, they had maximum return of function. Now here's the funny part. The funny part comes by a statement of a guy who was the director of that study from Harvard Medical School. "After 3 months it was clear that the drug was beneficial." Because it worked, chicken cartilage had become a drug! You can see, he was thinking about Patent numbers, and his eyes are rolling around about $300 a capsule, 20 patients, and you can just see him calculating, right? That means that if you go to Kentucky Fried Chicken, and you buy a bucket of fried chicken, throw away the skin and the meat and eat just the ends off the bones, you're practicing medicine without a license. And if you go to a Kentucky Fried Chicken in the middle of the night and you root through the dumpster and collect 2 five-gallon buckets of chicken bones, and you take them home with a hammer you pound off the ends of those bones and dry your own cartilage in the microwave, you are manufacturing a pharmaceutical. And the FDA is going to put you in jail!
If that's a little messy for you and you don't want to pay those lawyer fees, you can go into any grocery store and get some Knox gelatin. Women know about Knox gelatin, because it's good for your fingernails and your hair and your skin. It has the raw materials for chicken cartilage, it has the raw material for your cartilage, cause it is made out of beef cartilage and beef tendon, and if you take two of those little half oz. envelopes a day in your orange juice, and you take it with an oz. per body weight of colloidal minerals, next time I come by here in 3 months, you're going to run up here on this stage and hug me and kiss me if you've got arthritis.
Then there's arthritis. We talked about that a little bit earlier. Remember the chicken cartilage and the Knox gelatin? 85% of all arthritis is caused by Osteoporosis of the joint, ends of the bones. You're talking about degenerative arthritis, osteo arthritis, sciatica, lumbago, rheumatism, all those sorts of things. They are caused by Osteoporosis of the joint ends of the bones. I want you to think about something for a minute.
If you don't take a pain reliever or an anti-inflammatory for that
arthritis, let's say you get arthritis of the hips, you're going to kind
of favor that a little bit, aren't you? You're going to get a cane or a
walker or crutches. You're going to favor it so you don't put any weight
on it. I want you to think about that for just one second, because then I
want you to think about driving your tractor in a field, or you are
driving your Mercedes down the highway, either one, doesn't matter,
whichever you love more. And let's say, you didn't put that nut on that
oil pan that tight and all the oil drained out. And that light on the
dashboard comes on and says, "getting hot, you had better give me
some oil". And that light irritates you, so you stop, you open up the
hood, you get your clippers out, your fence clippers, and you clip the
wire to that light, and you close the hood, and you just keep driving.
Would you do that to your tractor or your Mercedes? No, you wouldn't. But
we take those pain relievers for arthritis and we go out there and square
dance, and do the Texas two-step, and do our five-mile walk and our
aerobics. That pill worked real good, Doc, cause it killed my pain. And
you are just wearing that thing off faster and faster. Then your doctor is
really going to get rich, because you need joint replacement surgery.

Well, my favorite disease is Arthritis.
The reason why I love Arthritis is that it’s easy to fix.
And when you can fix something as horrible and debilitating and
painful and expensive and as miserable as Arthritis, you get kind of
excited about this concept of preventing and curing disease with
nutrition. And so I tell
people about this arthritis thing all the time.
So let’s have a quick look at arthritis.
Number one, 75-80% of all Americans over the age of
50 get arthritis to one degree or one type or another, and according to
the CDC, the Center for Disease Control, 35 to 50 million baby-boomers are
going to get arthritis in the next 7 to 10 years and there’s not a
single medical treatment designed to treat or fix it.
Aspirin certainly doesn’t fix arthritis, it causes gastric
bleeding and death. Tylenol
doesn’t fix arthritis, there’s 50,000 cases of kidney failure each
year, 5000 so severe you need a kidney transplant.
Then there’s Ibuprofen, Advil, and Aleve, these things don’t
fix arthritis, and they cause liver disease in 2-5% of users including
liver sclerosis, even if you don’t drink.
And then there’s metholtrexate(?) and gold shots(?).
These things don’t fix arthritis, they subdue your bone marrow so
that you can’t make normal platelets and white blood cells.
Then you have the granddaddy of all medical treatments for
arthritis, Prednizone and Cortisone. They don’t fix arthritis.
They subdue your immune system which leaves you open to diseases
far, far more horrible than arthritis, and Prednizone and Cortisone accelerates the loss of minerals from your bone.
Something you don’t want when you have osteoporosis and
arthritis.
When these prescription medications and
over-the-counter medications don’t work anymore to relieve pain and
inflammation, the only thing left for you medically is joint-replacement
surgery. And I never liked to send my patients in for
joint-replacement surgery, cause they never work out well.
In fact, many times you are worse off after the surgery than you
were before the surgery.
The advantage my patients have always had is that
I’m a veterinarian as well as a physician.
So I always used to tell my patients “Look, we have all these
nutritional formulas designed to prevent and cure disease in animals,
including arthritis, and so I tried adapting nutritional arthritis
formulas designed to prevent and cure arthritis in pigeons and turkeys,
dogs and cats, sheep, pigs, horses, cows, lions, tigers and bears to human
use. It was no surprise to
me, it works just as well in humans as it does in animals, because it was
designed to prevent and cure arthritis in pigs.
And of course it has some really nifty stuff in it, which I have
been telling people to use for 20 years, and I have literally seen
tens of thousands of people who have had a regrowth of cartilage,
ligaments, tendons, connective tissue, bone foundation, bone matrix.
Doesn’t matter if they are 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, I’ve
seen people 97 years old regrow cartilage and bone, even if they had bone
to bone arthritis. If
there’s blood supply to that joint and that bone, they will regrow bone
and cartilage.
Well, Harvard Medical School goes berserk when you say
stuff like that. “Wallach,
you can’t say those things! And
the only thing left when they get bone to bone arthritis is
joint-replacement surgery.” And
I would agree with him if the only raw materials you are using is Tylenol
and aspirin and Prednizone and Cortisone.
We have learned over 50 years that you can’t regrow cartilage and
bones using those things.
Now one of the basic
things, of course, that the Harvard Medical School jumped on and
said “this is so ridiculous that this couldn’t work!”
And so they took 29 arthritis patients who had not responded in any
way to heroic medical treatment for arthritis over 15 to 20 years.
They took them off their medication, it wasn’t working anyway,
lined them up for joint-replacement surgery, and for 90 days before their
surgery they gave them heaping tablespoon of ground up chicken
cartilage in their orange juice every morning for 90 days.
They were sort of chuckling in their beer saying “nothing is
going to happen”. Well,
here’s what happened. In 10
days these people had complete relief of pain inflammation that they
hadn’t had in 15 to 20 years. In
30 days they could open up a new pickle jar that had never been opened
without pain to the fingers, wrists, elbows and shoulders.
In 90 days 28 of the 29 were clinically cured. Now this is from the Harvard Medical School and the Boston
VA. That meant that they had
complete return, 100% return, of the range of motion, all of the pain and
inflammation was gone, in their fingers and toes and hips and knees and
neck, and certainly many of them still had knots on their fingers, cause
it was only 90 days, and you would think they would call me up, these
professors from Harvard Medical School and from the Boston VA, and say
“Look, Wallach, we have to apologize to you.
We’ve been bad-mouthing you for 20 years and why don’t you come
up to Boston, let’s talk about the whole thing?”
Here’s what they said, “After 3 months it was clear that the
drug was beneficial.”
Chicken cartilage had become a drug in 90
days! Now why would that
happen? Well, because you
can’t patten chicken cartilage, and they convinced the US Patten Office
that they were using a drug to do this study, and they actually got a
use-patten on chicken cartilage. And
you, too, for $3500 a month, can get Harvard Medical School’s chicken
cartilage in a capsule for arthritis.

That’s kind of interesting.
And of course, cartilage or gelatine, has chondroitin sulfate
in it, glucosamine sulfate, collagen, these are all the basic raw
materials to rebuild cartilage and bone.
Now again I have been telling my human patients this for 20 years.
They’ve been using gelatine and cartilage for race horses for 100
years for their cartilage and ligaments and joints.
And in 1995, a Luke Bucci, an exercise physiologist came out with a
great book called “Pain Free”, and he talks about the advantages of
gelatine and cartilage and glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate and
collagen for regrowing cartilage, ligaments, tendons, connective
tissue, bone foundation, bone matrix, he does this with nutrition.
He does this with glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate
and collagen and cartilage and gelatine.
Just a couple of months ago, a medical doctor, Dr. Jason
Theodisakus, MD, wrote the “Arthritis Cure”, subtitle “the medical
miracle that can halt, reverse and may even can cure osteoarthritis.”

Calcium and Arthritis:
Now a
lot of my patients say, “Look, Doc, I have been taking 2000mg
calcium everyday for 20 years, cause I knew it was good for me,
yet I still have hypertension, insomnia, loose teeth, receding
gums, low back problems, bone spurs, kidney stones, arthritis,
osteoporosis, all the stuff you say I shouldn’t have. I’ve
been taking 2000mg calcium everyday”. I said “Well what kind
do you take?” He said “I take calcium gluconate, calcium
citrate, calcium lactate, oyster shell, eggshell, I take things
like Tums.” I said “Well, there’s your problem. If you
take 1000mg calcium lactate, for example, you’re not getting
1000mg of calcium, cause 86%, 860mg is lactose, or milk sugar.
Only 14%, or 140mg is metallic or elemental calcium, and let’s
use 10% for usability factors, a fair number, plus it’s easy
math, 10% of 140mg is 14. So if you take 2 of those calcium
lactate tablets, each 1000mg, you’re not getting 2,000mg of
calcium, you’re getting 2 times 14, or 28 mg. To get 2000mg of
calcium from these 1000mg calcium lactate tablets, you would
have to take 30 of those with each meal. Almost a full 100
tablet bottle of these calcium lactate tablets a day. And of
course, at $5 a bottle for the cheapest one, you’re looking at
$150 per month just for calcium. You’ve 59 more minerals to
go, 16 vitamins, 12 essential amino acids, 3 essential fatty
acids, so this is not an economical way to get your nutrients as
elemental minerals. Also, if you took in 90 tablets of anything
a day, you’re going to develop what we call B&F disease.
B&F disease stands for belching and farting. You’re going
to sound like an elephant out in the woods with a horrible
gastro-intestinal problem. And of course you know you have
B&F disease when your spouse has to throw a canary in the
bathroom to know if it is safe to go in there.

Hello,
Dr. Wallach, the women in my family are plagued with hay
fever and asthma and allergies,
and every summer I have to listen to them nattering on about all their
symptoms and the latest drugs they got from their doctor, and I don’t
want to join those ranks. Is there a better way?
A:
Absolutely,
let’s start with asthma, it’s
the easiest one to deal with. Asthma
is actually a deficiency of three nutrients: magnesium,
manganese, and the essential fatty
acids (EFA). And
by taking the Pig Arthritis formula twice a day you’re going to get the
optimal amounts of the plant-derived colloidal and the chelated magnesium
and manganese. And
then by taking minimum daily requirements of the 9 grams of the essential
fatty acids, that would be 3 of the Ultimate
EFA capsules with each meal, 9 a day, that’s going to give
you the minimum daily requirement of the essential fatty acids, and
those three nutrients together – magnesium,
manganese, essential fatty acids, will allow you to produce
what’s called prostaglandin. Prostaglandin's
are little short-lived hormones that last in your bloodstream 30 seconds,
60 seconds. So your body is
continuously making them, kind of rapid-fire, and when you don’t have
those three nutrients you’re not making the proper prostaglandin's to
keep your bronchi and your tracheae open, and that’s when you develop
asthma.
It’s very common when people take all 90
essential nutrients including the
magnesium and manganese and the essential fatty acids, within weeks
or months the tightness that’s a constant tightness in their chest is
significantly reduced, from 8 even totally relieved.
The frequency and severity of their asthma attacks significantly is
reduced. Certainly still keep
an inhaler available in case you have some unexpected emergency, kind of
like wearing your seat belt. Even
though you’re on a smooth flight and you’re not going to anticipate
sudden turbulence, you need to be prepared for emergencies, but you have
every honest expectation of doing very well.

Rheumatoid
arthritis is the most common systemic inflammatory rheumatic (joint)
disease. A meta-analysis
of 10 randomized controlled trials including 395 rheumatoid arthritis
patients confirmed consistent findings that supplementation with fish oil
for at least 12 weeks decreased the number of tender joints on physical
examination and reduced morning stiffness in individuals with rheumatoid
arthritis (75).
In most studies, marine-derived omega-3 fatty acid supplements were taken
in addition to conventional medical therapy. In general, clinical benefits
were observed at a minimum dose of 3 g/day of EPA + DHA, and were not
apparent until at least 12 weeks of supplementation (76).
Although a few investigators have reported that patients taking omega-3
fatty acid supplements were able to lower their doses of nonsteroidal
anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) (77,
78), this finding has not been as consistent (76).

Essential Fatty Acids:
Flaxseed oil (also known as flax oil or linseed oil) is available as an
ALA supplement. A number of fish oils are marketed as omega-3 fatty acid
supplements. Ethyl esters of EPA and DHA (ethyl-EPA and ethyl-DHA) are
concentrated sources of marine-derived omega-3 fatty acids. Since EPA and
DHA content will vary in fish oil and ethyl ester preparations, it is
necessary to read the label to determine the EPA and DHA content of a
particular supplement. DHA supplements derived from algae are also
available. All omega-3 fatty acid supplements are absorbed more
efficiently with meals. Dividing one’s daily dose into two or three
smaller doses throughout the day will decrease the risk of gastrointestinal
side effects (see the section on Safety). Although
cod liver oil is a rich source of EPA and DHA, it should be avoided as an
omega-3 fatty acid supplement since it also contains high levels of
vitamin A and vitamin D (117).

The term free radical is a generic term that covers a broad classification of dangerous food chemicals that are produced either directly or indirectly by man. Free radicals increase our risk of many of the dangerous side effects of obesity and weight loss programs, they increase our risks of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), Parkinson's disease, macular degeneration, cataracts, fibromyalgia and they accelerate the aging process.
By eliminating the intake of free radicals one can significantly reduce their risks of many diseases. A good insurance policy for protecting yourself against the accidental or unknowing consumption of free radicals is to flood yourself with multiple antioxidants at every meal. The old adage, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" surely fits here - if taking antioxidants everyday can significantly reduce one's risk of many terrible diseases, why would a lucid person not take antioxidants? Why wait until a disease strikes you before you have a motivational concern?
Additionally, as a person who is overweight or obese loses weight, the byproducts of "burning" fat can turn into free radicals that can increase the risk of many diseases, including inflamation of the intima (the lining of the arteries) which then produces arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, etc. To reduce the risk of the complications of weight loss, people need to flood themselves with antioxidants in order to protect themselves.

ORAC Value:
A good way to measure the antioxidant activity
of foods including juices is by means of the ORAC point
